Chris Evans – reaching the Quarters at the English |
 |
|
Chris Evans continued the record of Warwickshire players doing very well at the English Amateur Championship, at the venue for next year’s Walker Cup, the magnificent test of Hollinwell GC in Nottinghamshire. Before Chris, the likes of Rob Steele has been our most recent player to make the end what is a very long week and one of the toughest titles to win – a Championship which is not on the CV of the likes of Gary Wolstenholme. |

Dale’s Double |
| With two 69s, Dale Marson from Rugby Golf Club repeated the performance of Chris Evans (in 2002) and Chris Hazledine (2003) in winning both the Boys and the U21s Championships for 2004 – by 3 and 4 shots respectively. It was excellent golf over the perfectly set-up Colt Course of Harborne GC, a true test for the best Boys and U21s in the County. |

Three out of Three |
| At Brocton Hall, as Todd Hamilton was winning the Open, the Championship he had dreamed about and worked for in two decades playing golf across the World, 12 Warwickshire Juniors were continuing winning ways by beating Staffordshire Juniors comfortably to cement the team’s position at the top of the Midland League. |

Doughill takes Midland U16s honours for 2004 |
 |
|
With two rounds of 72, it was a great performance from one of the youngest of the Warwickshire contingent in the 2004 Midland Boys at Moseley GC. With our County having won this Post and Mail trophy for Midland Boys itself, each of the last three years, expectations were high throughout but eventually only Chris Doughill was able to claim a Midland Trophy. |

Junior Team win No 2 – and gain some sort of revenge |
| It was the turn of Shropshire & Herefordshire to visit Warwickshire for the second of the 2004 Midland League matches. Brian Fish’s Junior team comfortably won away last year and our team had only lost two players through those players becoming too old for this season. Ron Snelling, Chairman of Shrops & Hereford had some younger players in his squad and both teams were missing a couple of ‘stars’ so the result of the Junior County 6s for 2004 pointed to a close match. |
