Coventry are Warwickshire Cup winners for 2004 |

With five players in the County squads, plus the recently ‘retired’ Peter Holt (not so retired as you will read later), the Coventry team was regarded as the favourites for the 2004 Warwickshire Cup final, the fifth year of the trophy, and they fully justified this position with some outstanding play. |

Four times champions – the record in 2005? |
| Ben Stafford was 3 down and had four birdies in his next five holes – and was still 2 down. Sam Foster put 10 birdies and an eagle ‘on the board’ against his two Sunday opponents. There were over 25 ‘red numbers’ from Warwickshire Juniors just on Sunday afternoon as our County equalled the record of Gloucs from the 70’s. |

This weekend sees the final competition of a busy Easter holidays for Warwickshire Juniors with the Junior Team defending the Four Counties at Broadway. You can find full results for the Boys Trials on the site (details below) as well as our feature report on Rob Browning's win. Another year - a different golfer. |
| Last year started badly for Andy Sullivan when he missed playing in the McEvoy, and matchplay success for the Boys 1st team apart, it was not a good year – a lack of confidence and a rising handicap. Andy stayed on in education, starting a two year College course last Autumn, unlike many of his fellow Junior Team members who opted for more time for their golf. For Sullivan though, quality rather than quantity and a belief that 2003 was just one of those years saw the Purley Chase star return to winning ways by 3 shots over the field with a 71 at Henley, just one shot off the Amateur Course record. |

Last year, Rob Browning had his best ever few months of golf. He did not win a County trophy but in October 03, his golf was rewarded with the Order of Merit title, courtesy of winning the JoM Championship and a few junior opens along the way. Yesterday, he could have had the Henley course record but fell away over the last 6. At Stoneleigh, Rob kept his game for the full 18 and took the Boys Trials. |
