With a gross 69 (-3) is was another win in the Boys Trials at Ingon Manor GC for Rob Browning to make his start for the competitive season a 36 holes total of 140 over the last two days, the sort of scoring he will need to be highly placed in the McEvoy in two weeks time. Rob was already assured of his palce in the 8 man team for the Four Counties later in April but for a number of those playing, it was a chance to impress |

| Warwickshire Schools Championships 2005 – Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club – Wednesday 30th March 2005. The past 8 years has seen the numbers playing in the Warwickshire Schools go from 40 to 77 and for size of those years, the weather has been kind for the first Championship of each year. 1997 was very cold and heavy rain all day and this year, its was just about as bad for the Juniors competing for five trophies. |

‘In these friendlies it’s a chance to prepare for the season but winning is a good habit to get into and to keep’, said Andy Kearns, County Captain. After a very good start in the first friendly of year in the foursomes, that habit was retained but only just and it was a past Captain of Warwickshire who provided the golf, and the point, which gave our county a 6.5 to 5.5 win at Coventry Golf Club. This report also contains detail of a win for the Juniors away against Notts. |

The Warwickshire Union AGM 2005 |
| March 17th – Copt Heath Golf Club. The members of the Executive and the Council members from the 52 Warwickshire Golf Clubs gathered at Copt Heath for the AGM of the Union. As this was the last AGM before the Centenary in 2006 and the Council had to approve both the preparations for the celebrations as well as the appointment of a number of new officials, notably Graham Hayes to replace our retiring County Secretary John Stubbings. |

The 2005 Squad Meeting at the De Vere Belfry – 13th March |
| Andy Kearns, Warwickshire 1st Team Captain, gathered together over 30 of his squad for his team and for the seconds at the De Vere Belfry to pay 18 holes over the PGA National Course as a warm-up for the 2005 Season which starts next week with two friendlies. The prospective new Second Team captain Nick Clifford was not playing – he was married the day before! |
