10 Counties 2003 - Gog Magog GC
Saturday 21st June With scoring never have been seen so low, this year s Midland Region County Qualifier looked, at first glance, very different to any previous year. At 6300 yards (Par 70) and running very fast Gog Magog is still a very good test of golf. All the three par fives were in range, but to counteract this, the five par 3 pins were very difficult to get close to and flags were tucked away on a number of par 4 holes. The greens were very hard, the surfaces almost burnt back, so missing a green on the wrong side was a guaranteed bogey.

2003 Matchplay Championship
held at Olton GC - 13th and 15th June With a wonderful trophy, covered in Warwickshire Golf History, Matt Cryer was more than happy with his first Warwickshire Title. He is the holder of the TP Cooke Salver but having played so well through Junior and Senior ranks, he had never won a name title - until today.

10 Counties Qualifier - Scores
Warwickshire Amateur Championship 2003
Handsworth GC 12th May With showers forecast all day, the heavy and continuous morning rain soon dampened the hopes of some of the field. First off was Handsworth member Dave Westwood who with solid putting and driving posted his best ever round at his home club, a 67, including 5 birdies. It was a score that no-one would match even with the improving conditions.
WARWICKSHIRE MENS TRIALS 2003
Youth to the Fore With Stratford s new bunkering in play, and greens which were still very early Spring like, conditions were tough for the 72 competitors in the 2003 Men s Trials. The entry was up 20 on the previous year, representing nearly all of the best players in Warwickshire and a number of the first Team played well - but not well enough.
