SPORT ENGLAND ANNOUNCES £315m INVESTMENT INTO SPORT
WITH £9m GOING INTO GOLF as part of a four-year funding plan to boost participation and international success Sport England, the strategic lead for sport in England, today announced its four-year funding, totalling some £315 million for 32 priority and development sports in England.

The Season Ahead
For the Warwickshire Union, this is a very important year, certainly for the efforts being put into making 2006, the Centenary of the Union, a very special time. Warwickshire Ladies celebrated 100 years in 2000, very successfully. There have already been announcements from Jim Dean, President of the Union, as to the main events that will happen during 2006 and expect more details to follow shortly. The proposed President for that year has also just been announced – Mr John Stubbings.

English Schools Team Championship and McPartlin Trophy
For 2005 there is a new format for the English Schools Championships and Warwickshire Schools would like to hold a County Competition for the McPartlin Trophy. Full details of both competitions are in this feature and it will be of special interest to Teachers and Club Junior Organisers for each competition respectively.
