England wins the Senior Home Internationals |
| Bridget Jackson captained the England Senior team to victory at the Home International, Wittington Heath Golf Club on 3 October. England beat Ireland 6 - 1 on the final day’s play, having won the foursomes 2 - 0. They were looking for 2 points from the singles to win the tournament.

Shelley McKevitt (Reading) has won the Ladies’ British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship, held at Royal Portrush Golf Club, Northern Ireland 20 - 22 August 2003 with 75, 79, 81,71 for 306. Shelley set a new course record in the last round, including an albatross 2 at the 7th.

Saunton Golf Club, Devon from the 15 - 17 July
At the end of round 1 Sophie Walker, 18 years old, from Kenwick Park, Lincolnshire leads the field on the par 74 Saunton course, with a score of 71 (-3). Sophie eagled the 4th having driven with her 5 wood to 12 feet, she had a good birdie down the 10th going slightly left off the tee into the rough and using a 9 iron to 12 feet.  |
