held at Olton GC - 13th and 15th June
With a wonderful trophy, covered in Warwickshire Golf History, Matt Cryer was more than happy with his first Warwickshire Title. He is the holder of the TP Cooke Salver but having played so well through Junior and Senior ranks, he had never won a name title - until today.

Handsworth GC 12th May
With showers forecast all day, the heavy and continuous morning rain soon dampened the hopes of some of the field.
First off was Handsworth member Dave Westwood who with solid putting and driving posted his best ever round at his home club, a 67, including 5 birdies. It was a score that no-one would match even with the improving conditions.

| Youth to the Fore
With Stratford s new bunkering in play, and greens which were still very early Spring like, conditions were tough for the 72 competitors in the 2003 Men s Trials. The entry was up 20 on the previous year, representing nearly all of the best players in Warwickshire and a number of the first Team played well - but not well enough.

Between Copt Heath GC, winners in 2001 and 2002, and Handsworth GC.
So many times, a match turns on one shot. This can happen early on giving a player or a team a lead from which they build on. When things are close mid round, a miss by a side often gives the winner(s) a slim advantage that they hold on to. Then there is when everything changes through a mistake but where to take advantage, the winning golfer(s) concerned have to make the most of their fortune.
