Junior Team win No 2 – and gain some sort of revenge |

It was the turn of Shropshire & Herefordshire to visit Warwickshire for the second of the 2004 Midland League matches. Brian Fish’s Junior team comfortably won away last year and our team had only lost two players through those players becoming too old for this season. Ron Snelling, Chairman of Shrops & Hereford had some younger players in his squad and both teams were missing a couple of ‘stars’ so the result of the Junior County 6s for 2004 pointed to a close match. |

| Welcoming Staffordshire to Edgbaston was a chance for a first win in three years. Two years ago Warwickshire lost at Brocton Hall, but still won the Midland league title. Last year, they entertained our team at the Open Championship qualifying course of Beau Desert, and with their win, the ended any hopes for our 1st Team. |

It was a great day for Warwickshire Junior Golf at the England Schools Championships at Thetford G C, Norfolk, on Monday 28th June 2004. There were just 15 places available in the two England Schools teams for the International matches at the end of the Summer and 31 Counties were represented through the qualification process - Warwickshire ended up with 3 caps - 20% of the available places. |

| MIDLAND AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP 2004 - Finham GC and Kenilworth GC - 25th and 26th June.
From a field of 106, Warwickshire had 9 qualifiers through to the final 36 of the 72 hole Chmapionship which has been held by all the greats and this year attracted the likes of Oliver Heath and Gary Wolstenholme to Coventry - but it was our own '1' and '2' who dominated the leaderboard after 36 and battled it out for the Silver Salver in some dreadful weather conditions. |

Having arrived back from the County 6s at just after Midnight on Saturday, Rob Steele could hardly have expected to be fresh for 36 holes in the Finham Bowl on the Sunday morning - along with all the other players from Warwickshire and other Counties who had been playing in the County 6s. He was playing with Matt Cryer and their opening 73s left the pair five back from the lead. Then the fireworks started as the two played some fantastic golf ... |

| These are the final team scores from Woodhall Spa on 19th June 2004. It was a tough day, over a very challenging course, and the final qualification came down to just one shot. Notable rounds included a new course record from Thomason (Leics) of 66 – Thomason being the man who replaced Gary Wolstenholme! |
