  • County Week 2004 – Stage 1 – a wonderful start!

    Over the very beautiful (and difficult) Whittington Heath GC, Pat Hale’s Warwickshire 1st team have made a wonderful start in trying to make it through to the semi-finals of the County Championship. If you want to see the best golfers in the Midlands, playing a wonderful course, then do make it to Whittington for Tuesday or Wednesday (15th & 16th June). This is the story of Day 1.

  • County Week 2003 Day 3

    The day began with Warwickshire clearly understanding the challenge. They had to win all of their matches to beat Staffordshire and go through to the next round. Drawn against Derbyshire the foursomes teams were Hannah Coles and Anne Parry, Lisa Barton and Claire Howells, Marsha Button and Jane Mander. The top two matches lost in hard fought battles whilst Marsha and Jane managed to scrape a half with an excellent fight back which took the match all the way to the 18th

  • 2003 County Week - Day 2

    Staffordshire opened play against Derbyshire. In a tough battle the counties halved both the morning foursomes and afternoon singles to halve their overall match. Warwickshire drawn to play Worcestershire knew the writing was on the wall unless they produced some results. And they did. The morning foursomes were won by Warwickshire 2 - 1.

  • County Week 2003 - Day 1

    Worcs beat Derbyshire - Warks lose to Staffs 3 - 6 After last year’s less than positive start on Day 1, Warwickshire were looking for a win from their first match in the three day County Week qualifer, held this year at Kedlestone Park. First Day opponents were Staffordshire who halved all their matches last year,a strong side and with our County missing Felicity Johnson for Day 1, due to exam commitments, it would need all the Warwickshire Ladies to play well to lead the table.

  • The First Stage of Qualifying for the English County Championship for 2003

    At Kedleston Park, this Monday through Wednesday, the Warwickshire Ladies County team will start on the road to trying to go one stage further than last year when they reached the semi-finals and so bravely fought to go through. Reports will be here each night, at approximately 7.00 pm as Captain Marsha Button leads her team against Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Worcestershire
