Its not our year - at Junior level
Boys County 6s - Midland Qualifier - Maxstoke Park GC - Thursday 28th May 2009. Winning at a 'home' venue has always proved difficult, whether for Warwickshire or any other county, and so it was this year as our strong Boys team tried to book a return to the English County Finals, this time to be held just up the road in Staffordshire and in August, rather than a 'balmy' links as last year at Westwood Ho, in mid September.

Boys U16s & U14s vs Staffordshire
On Sunday 24th May the Warwickshire under 16s and under 14s played their first county match of the new season against Staffs county. The match was played in ideal weather conditions(warm and sunny)at Uttoxeter Golf course,, The course was short by modern standards, 5801 yards off the white tees. The lack of length was compensated for by small greens, which according to the players were very slow and the course was very undulating.
Warwickshire Pro recieves Charity award
A pro with a passion for spreading the gospel of golf has won the 2009 Toby Sunderland Award for years of unsung work with disabled and underprivileged kids. Stuart Bottrill, head professional at Shirley Golf Club, was nominated for his efforts stretching back more than 10 years and which has seen him establish a network of opportunities for youngsters across the West Midlands.
Sullivan takes title with devastating burst
2009 Warwickshire Amateur - Olton GC - Thursday 21st May - With just 29 strokes, Andy Sullivan procured himself a winning margin over the rest of the field in this year's Amateur, to give himself a second title for 2009 after winning the Midland Closed by six shots three weeks ago. It was a burst of quality of golf that only someone of Andy's calibre can produce, and was just enough to hold of the charge of Jack Sant. Sant only started playing golf again a year ago, having had a rest after years of Junior success.
Warwickshire Over 25's v Under 25's
Warwickshire?s finest headed for Olton Golf Club yesterday to take part in a new fixture - Over 25's v Under 25's. Faced with inclement conditions that reminded us of the 2008 friendly fixtures the rain softened Olton circuit was certainly playing a good four shots easier than it had done earlier in the week.
