The 2003 Walker Cup - Editorial
At Ganton this weekend, GB & Ireland will look to continue their winning streak with victory over the US side, an opposing team weakened by three players turning professional. There will be no Warwickshire player in the team this year, not that we haven’t had excellent representation in the past. Final Score - GB and I 12.5 - US 11.5 - a great comeback!

The Golf Foundation Weetabix 2003 Age Group Championships
Andy Sullivan was the only Warwickshire representative in this the culmination of regional qualifying and National finals which has some pedigree and has include winners by the name of Lee Westwood, amoungst others. This year, Andy was the lowest handicap for the U16s Boys, and playing against the likes of Steven Capper (Caldy)and Lee Lewis (Gower).
Another England Champion – Hannah Coles wins the Schools U16s
Hannah Coles lost in the final of the ELGA U15s last Friday. She was philosophical about that defeat having been up early on and she knew that she would have one more chance this Summer for a National title to go with her County Championship, the ESGA U16s to be held at her home course of Maxstoke Park.
Win No 4 – as convincing as any
Chairman of Warwickshire Junior Golf, Brian Fish now knows his Team is just one match away from the Final of the Midland Junior Team Championship after an 11-4 thrashing of Shropshire and Herefordshire – away at Patshull Park. Having scraped a narrow lead (3-2) in the foursomes, Warwickshire Boys were more than convincing in the singles ….
Dougherty is in town to support the 2003 Golf Foundation Finals
Leading European Tour professional Nick Dougherty will be cheering on the country’s most talented junior golfers next week as they compete to become 2003 Age Group Champions of Great Britain and Ireland. A hundred of golf’s finest girls and boys will be taking part in the 2003 Golf Foundation Weetabix Age Group Championships at the Marriott Forest of Arden Golf & Country Club, Warwickshire on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th August
